Cambiando rimani te stessa*
*Remain unchanged while changing.
The project Innocence is a research of the period of “second childhood”, between 8 and 11 years old, the period of a person’s life between early childhood and adolescence. American researcher Stanley Hall called preadolescence a period of transition from savagery to civilization. And this wildness seems to be our true essence by nature, which we lose over time, and then try to find in ourselves again and again.

Second childhood can be called “living in one’s own world” with a sense of completeness and self-sufficiency. After all, at this time, the Child lives and follows one feeling that comes from within, and there is such a big and interesting world ahead, where we are all Heroes in it. Each with its own superpower and uniqueness.

As you grow older, this changes and the subjective world is replaced by initiation into society, which imposes its ideals and rules.
We have to plunge into the crowd of life, we have to experience many disappointments and lose a lot of strength and “wildness”, which remains smoldering in flames and waiting for its time.

And that time of adult childhood with its enthusiasm and faith in one’s own strength, with its faith in good, the search for beauty, with its spiritual selflessness, purity reminds us as adults who we are.
And let this project become a small reminder and a photographic reflection of the period of each of us – Second Childhood.

Innocence is a story about the period when we remain ourselves, and how beautiful everything is, this age is as short as the life of a butterfly.
