Synesthesia is a special way of perceiving the world, when some states, phenomena, concepts and symbols are involuntarily endowed with additional qualities: color, smell, texture, taste or sound tonality. A person can see or feel a sound, aroma like a color, feel the texture or geometric shape of a melody, and so on.
